Mississippi Hospitality & Restaurant Association Recognizes Beau Rivage Resort & Casino

Jackson, Miss. – June 17, 2007 – The Mississippi Hospitality & Restaurant Association recently held its 2007 Awards Gala at the Telcom Center in Jackson, Mississippi and Beau Rivage took home top honors.

Nominations for the coveted MHRA Annual Awards were received from all over Mississippi. Categories included Manager of the Year, Restaurateur of the Year, Supplier of the Year, Lodging Property of the Year, Caterer of the Year and the Distinguished Service Award.

Beau Rivage Resort & Casino received best in class in two categories. Beau Rivage received the Lodging Property of the Year Award and George Goldhoff, Vice President of Food and Beverage received the Manager of the Year award.

Beau Rivage was recognized for its role in setting the gold standard for lodging properties in the state. Additionally, the property was recognized for outstanding leadership in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Goldhoff, a past member of the MHRA Board of Directors was recognized for his role in redefining the dining models the Beau Rivage. He was the driving force behind the extensive wine list featured at the various restaurants on property. Besides his operational expertise, Goldhoff also helped manage the MGM MIRAGE’s Emergency Relief Fund for Katrina victims.

During the event, Chefs from all over the state prepared their signature dishes for judging by celebrity judges including Chef Louis Bruno, chef for Governor Haley Barbour, Chef Stafford Decambra, Executive Chef for Pearl River Resorts, Chef Martha Yost Executive Chef for Sysco Foodservice of Jackson, Gail Pittman and special guest Iron Chef Cat Cora.

Over 200 people attended the event. Proceeds from the Gala will go to the Mississippi Hospitality & Restaurant Association Scholarship Fund.
